2026 Plans
A year ago, I posted my composition plans for 2025. Well, life is unpredictable, as is chronic illness. 2025 became my worst health year since I became ill and disabled in 2012. I only completed one piece in June of 2025 and that was a piece I mostly finished in December of 2024, At An Impasse for saxophone quartet and piano.
So my to-do composition list for 2026 is pretty much the same with a couple additions.
What Stars Remember for soprano voice, alto sax, and piano
It is a setting of a poem of the same name by my writer friend, Glory Fink
The piece is for my friend Tyler Tucker
The Triumph of Galatea for violin and soprano saxophone
It is a piece inspired by the Raphael painting of the same name
The piece is for my friend Michael Hernandez.
Then the rest are pieces from my MECFS project which I am writing for The _____ Experiment to perform next season at the University of Southern Mississippi.
No One Expects To Get Sick And Never Recover for mixed quintet
Crash And Burn for solo bassoon
Broken Lullabies for oboe and bassoon
Faint/Off Kilter for clarinet, saxophone, and harp
